Weekend Warriors has arrived at Allans Music VIC and NSW. Are you between 35-60 (or either side and love good rock, rock'n roll from the 60's, 70's and 80's and even new music) and want to play in a band again or for the first time, then we will hook you up with other players…..no probs!  We provide:

• A coach to match up skill levels, recommend the bands' makeup, help agree on a set list and generally guide your band towards its first public appearance.

• Quality gear to ensure you get the most out of your experience

• Organise the rehearsals and provide you with fully equipped rehearsal facilities

• Organise a professionally staged gig to showcase your achievements in rehearsal

How does it work?

Weekend Warriors is a program that involves:
- A Getting-to-know-everybody Jam
- 4 rehearsal over 4 weeks
- A gig on the Fifth

Start by registering your interest in becoming a Weekend Warrior. We'll contact you.
On your registration form we ask for:
•  Your personal details
•  Preferred Instrument
•  Musical Preferences

The Jam
The Weekend Warrior Program starts with a jam session for all those who have registered their interest. Meet the coach, other Warriors and your hosts, our store staff and then have some fun.

Top pro-quality PA. drum set, guitars, keyboards and amps for the jam, rehearsals and gig will be provided by Allans Music. You are welcome to use your own guitars and basses but it's best for us if you use the amps, kit and keyboards provided. This saves everyone's time.

The Coaches

Bob Spencer ( Kew and Melbourne CBD)
Bob has been a part of the Australian music scene for (says he) more years than he cares to remember. Bob joined Sydney respected rock outfit Finch in 1972, won the Pepsi Battle Of The Bands in 1974, joined The Skyhooks in 1977 and recorded several albums and performed with this Australian icon band for three years. In 1985 he joined another Aussie icon rock n’ roll band, The Angels. All of Bob's albums with The Skyhooks & The Angels have been certified either Platinum or Gold, and in 1998 Bob was presented with a ARIA Lifetime Achievement Award & inducted into the ARIA Hall Of Fame.

He divides his time between being the Melbourne Coach for "The Weekend Warriors", being a guitar tutor & band coach, presenting Masterclasses & Clinics, running a mastering & recording studio, writing a guitar book & recording & producing other artists.

Bob has been involved in Weekend Warriors since its introduction into Australia – his experience, skills, manner and love of mentoring musicians make the Weekend Warriors a great experience for musicians.

Dai Pritchard (Alexandria)
Dai has been playing guitar for 25 years plus. In that time he has played with Australia's who’s who
to include Marcia Hines, Jimmy Barnes, Olivia Newton-John, Doug Parkinson, Glen Shorrock and
Billy Thorpe.

Dai has recently returned from an extensive tour of Europe with Australia’s powerhouse - Rose Tattoo. In his acoustic solo performances he includes current and recent hits as well as time
honoured favourites, all done without a net, just one guy and one guitar.

After the Jam
After the jam the coach will put together up to five bands after assessing styles, standard, program needs and so on. The coach considers many variables and circumstances into account when putting the band members together.

The coach will call a short meeting to announce the bands' make up, agree on a rehearsal schedule and set-list.

Rehearsals
Every band will have a weekly 2 hour rehearsal for 4 weeks with your coach. Rehearsals are designed by the coach to be effective with Warrior's time. Punctuality and reliability are essential once the program is agreed.

The Gig
The gig is all about you and we want you to encourage your friends, family & workmates to come along and witness your musical rebirth!

In addition to the guitars, amps, keyboards, mic's and drum kit, and in keeping with your rock star status, also provided are the band venue, P.A, road crew and lights. Though you must provide your own groupies!

We average about 250 punters at each gig. Profits from the cover charge at the gig go to charity.

What's the Cost?
Provide us with your details and we will keep you informed of upcoming program dates.
There is a $295 fee to participate which covers everything.
We ask, along with your commitment to the program, to be paid up before the first rehearsal.
